Welcome to the IDEA Summit 2022!

POLARIS: The Museum Mentor Network presents the IDEA Summit 2022. This second annual IDEA Summit continues to explore how museum professionals can bring greater intentionality to their professional development. The leadership skills, leader development opportunities, and new organizational models we develop must advance diversity, equity, access, and inclusion (DEAI). In this year’s gathering, we will also explore our leadership with communities including our museum audiences and our professional networks.

The IDEA Summit 2022 is an online event running June 22–23 featuring keynotes, workshops, panel discussions, and networking. On June 21, there will be a pre-Summit workshop for BIPOC museum professionals (space is limited to 30). Interactive sessions led by specialists and museum practitioners will explore topics on leadership skills, mentoring partnerships, career advancement, community engagement, and DEAI values.

GOALS:

  • Explore practices, skills, and issues around leadership development, community engagement, and DEAI values
  • Support self-empowerment and self-advocacy through skill-building tools and resources.
  • Strengthen the POLARIS community through networking, peer-to-peer learning, and sharing best and next practices.

This is free and open to professionals across the sector–at all stages of their careers–working in and with museums. Sessions will be recorded.

Thank you for your interest. The event has now ended. There were 220 museum colleagues in attendance across all sessions! You can access session recordings using the link below.
